A decree of the Minister of the Interior shall publish the number of residents in Europe, including Russia and Turkey, South America, North and Central America , and the allocation Africa, Asia, Oceania and Antarctica. Within the month of January of each year, a decree of the Minister of the Interior, in consultation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, published the number of Italian citizens residing in individual partitions, the basis of the updated data, provided for in Article 5 of Law No. 459/2001, reported on 31 December last year. With the Ministerial Decree of 27 January 2011, published nella Gazzetta ufficiale del 31 gennaio 2011, è stato quindi pubblicato tale numero. I cittadini italiani residenti all'estero iscritti, al 31 dicembre 2010, nell'elenco aggiornato, sono così ripartiti: Europa, compresi i territori asiatici della Federazione Russa e della Turchia: 2.264.417 America Meridionale: 1.244.423 America Settentrionale e Centrale: 383.739 Africa, Asia, Oceania e Antartide: 222.656 Fonte: Viminale – Direzione Centrale per i Servizi Demografici"
